The College of Life Sciences provides the following funds for research and teaching.


James Bobbitt Alzheimer’s Research
James Bobbitt Heart Disease Research
  • $10,000 – $13,000 award for a faculty member conducting research in the area of heart disease.
James Bobbitt Kidney Disease Research
  • $10,000 – $13,000 award for a faculty member conducting research in the area of kidney disease or diabetes.
Turkey Vaccine Study
  • $10,000 – $13,000 award for a faculty member conducting poultry research
Anderson Diabetes Research
  • $1,500 award for a student to strengthen and enhance education in the area of diabetes mellitus through research, conference attendance, community outreach, or visits to BYU by distinguished scholars.
Myriad Award of Excellence in Learning Leadership
  • $10,000 award for faculty in Biology, MMBio, or PDBio to promote undergraduate research.
Roger and Victoria Sant Sustainability Research Award
  • $10,000 awards for faculty mentoring of students in research related to sustainable use of the world’s resources. Special consideration is given to proposals that involve marine research. The Sant Committee, which is supplementary to the College Research Committee, oversees the awarding of these funds.
