The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers approximately 470 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others. In addition to several new program models designed to meet the changing needs of U.S. academics and professionals, Fulbright offers flexible awards including multi-country opportunities.

Fulbright Scholar Liaisons help university faculty apply for opportunities with the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. The role of the Fulbright Scholar Liaison is to inspire faculty to participate in the Fulbright program; to raise the international profile of the university; to highlight Fulbrighters from the institution and to stay informed of Fulbright events and opportunities. The Fulbright Scholar Liasion for Brigham Young University is Kristen Clarke Kellems. On February 10, 2023, the U.S. State Department recognized BYU as a Top Producing Institution for U.S. Fulbright Scholars — a prestigious recognition for a handful of U.S. universities with the most individuals selected for the Fulbright Scholar Program.
