Our mission is to grow our College’s research portfolio by helping faculty to find opportunities to secure external grants.

By enabling faculty to fully realize their available opportunities, we believe our assistance and support will provide CPMS faculty with the increased capabilities to their pre-award efforts. This support directly encourages the discovery of new knowledge, improves experiential education, and promotes collaboration to increase and sustain the quality of our program.

CPMS Research Development provides a full range of services and support for the BYU faculty and their sponsored research efforts.

  • Identification of funding opportunities
  • Funding searches, and advisement on funding strategy
  • Training opportunities (e.g., seminars, workshops) to help researchers build grant-seeking skills
  • Library of winning proposals and proposal resources
  • Connection of faculty members with potential collaborators and mentors
  • Targeted proposal support for external proposal submissions
  • Kuali support
  • And so much more!

Michelle is delighted to work hand-in-hand with Lael Thompson, Research Development Officer for the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. She is also pleased to with her research assistant Greta Acreman.
